Highland Games 12-year-old Scot The answer is "yes!" It has been a month since we returned from St. Andrews...had fried baloney sandwiches with art lovers at the Art Cellar in Banner Elk, and sent you a clever blog post...did you miss me? You don't have to answer that.
But to tell you the truth...I missed doing this. I have been focused, influenced by our trip to Scotland and a portrait-painting friend, Jamie Lee McMahan, on painting a series of Scots...photos I have taken over the last four or five years at the annual Highland Games. If you look under "New Paintings" on my web site, you'll find five new paintings related to the games and the play on words of Scot(ch). It was fun! These watercolors are now at The Art Cellar Gallery in Banner Elk, along with a couple of other paintings new to the gallery...Linvlille Fishing Boats that are both oil on wooden panels.
I am studying (through videos and books) and preparing to do more portrait/figure studies during the winter in Florida. I promise I won't wait another month to show you what I am painting
